Went here for my 21st birthday yesterday with my family for the first time and was absolutely blown away from the moment I walked in, staff were super friendly and accommodating, and my god, the food was something else, I ordered a meatlovers pizza, when I say it was the best pizza I've ever tasted I mean it! Can't wait to visit again 11/10!
Went for sunday lunch, food was well presented and absolutely delicious. Service spot on, lovely staff. Puddings were amazing, prices were great. I would definately go back

For the price, I thought it was perfect. I needed to be in Shotley Bridge at very short notice, I booked 2 nights on their website on the morning before driving up. I last stayed here about 20 years ago, and was hoping it had improved, what a lovely surprise. I was allocated room one and couldn't fault it. Simon behind the bar welcomed me, made sure I registered my car for the parking and showed me to my room. The room was a vast improvement on my last visit, large, very clean and had everything I needed. All the staff were friendly, as we're the locals in the bar. Shame there was no breakfast option, but this was made clear on their website, so not a surprise. I will have to be back in a couple of weeks, so hoping rooms will be available.
One of the most delicious meals I've ever had! I've ate in alot of pubs in the north east and the crown and cross swords is miles ahead in every way. The staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is brilliant! We will definitely be back regularly! Thanks again!
I took my daughter boyfriend and 3 grandkids yesterday same last year THERES NO PUB IN THE WHOLE OF THE COUNTRY GOT BETTER FOOD THAN CROWN AND CROSS SWORDS I VE BEEN LOADS PLACES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY CROWN AND CROSS SWORDS IS DEFNITLY BEST FOOD AND SERVICE EVER BUTCHERS BLOCK IS AWESOME AND GOD THE TREACLE SPONGE PUDDING IS TO DIE FOR THANK YOU I LL CALL IN AGAIN SOON AMAZING FOOD LUSH GRAEME LESNER
Sunday lunch is easily the best around consett. Went yesterday for a family birthday and still thinking of the food now. Beef was perfection and just fell off the fork. Nice to have this right on our doorstep. Think I'll be back this Sunday!
